UPDATE:
Thanks, everyone! Winners picked and items in the mail. Congrats to Michelle and Hilene.
I have a tshirt that I'd like to give away to someone who can use it. It is dark blue and says "Some people only dream of angels. I held one in my arms." It is size 2X. It has never been worn, and I'd like to pass it along to someone.
Also, does anyone have a baby named Emily? I have a bracelet that has the name Emily on it and inside the scripture "To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven." ~ Ecclesiastes 3:1" that I'd love to give to someone who would like it
I hope today is gentle for you

Giveaway! Feb 13-20 ENTER NOW
I thought I'd sweeten things up with a giveaway this week! Thanks to everyone who donated items. To enter, just leave a comment below (and an email where you can be reached.) For extra entries you can repost on Facebook or link from your blog. You can also respond to my newsletter. You can enter through Sunday midnight 2/20/2011 and winners will be announced Monday. Good luck, peeps!

Brittanie from Snickey Snacks has donated a $20 GIFT CARD to her site. If you are a local (Frederick or Montgomery County, MD area) you can use it how you like. If you live further afield that means some delicious SUGAR COOKIES are coming your way! I don't know what design but I can attest they are the perfect thing for a sweet treat.

Stephanie from Sweet Pea Project has donated a copy of her BOOK Still. Click over to her site to read more about this touching book. Please note that this prize will ship directly to the winner the first week of March.

My sweet sister who does the Aloha Remembered sand name photos for is donating a cute FABRIC BANNER to us. This is not a photo of the actual banner- I'm having photo difficulties. It is similar style to this, colors yet unknown.

And lastly, but not leastly, I will donate a $25 TARGET GIFTCARD (it probably will not be this rockin' peacock design but it spends the same.)
GOOD LUCK!

December ceremonies- Angel of Hope

The story behind this angel statue is told in the book "The Christmas Box" by Richard Paul Evans. In the book a grieving woman mourns the loss of her child at an angel statue in a Salt Lake cemetary. There have since been over 80 Christmas box angel statues placed around the United States. They are dedicated as places of love and healing for all those who have lost children. Many of them have candlelight vigil ceremonies around this time of year. It is customary to leave a white flower behind. If you look closely at the angel statue there is the word 'hope' hidden in her wing.
To check if there is an angel statue near you, visit the site Christmas box angel locations
I have several copies of The Christmas Box to give away- if you would like one, please email me at nickwilberg @ hotmail.com.

Book Review- Mending Invisible Wings Journal
Because I'm in a giving kind of mood, I'm going to post this little goodie I've been holding on to for awhile.

A while back the author Mary Burgess contacted me about reviewing her book Mending Invisible Wings: a Healing Journal for Mothers. Part of the deal was I would offer it as a giveaway to one of my readers.
I'm sorry I agreed to it. To give it away, I mean. I want to keep it for myself.
This beautiful book is a journal- meant to be interactive as you fill it out and write, draw or paint to express your emotions and (as it says on the back cover) "reclaim your body, your heart and your life". The pages are these lovely thick paper which begs to be filled. Throughout the book are little treasures of images, illustrations, sketches, affirmations, poetry and ceremonies.
This book has a definite earth mother/goddess feel to it so if you are looking for a Christian type of journal this is not it.
So, after holding onto it as long as I possibly could get away with I am ready to send it out in the world to one of you, lucky readers. I've decided to do it in tandem with my other giveaway. (Winners have been chosen- congratulations!)
Good luck!

Countdown to Mother's Day
The countdown has started- Mother's Day is just over a week away. I dread it.
Mother's Day can be difficult- especially if you have no living kids. You ARE a mom- and I'm sorry your darling babies are not with you.
This year, Gabriel's anniversary date falls ON Mother's Day. Double whammy for me.
I'd like to send a card to all you moms. Just email me your name and address by this Sunday, May 2. Please put 'Stepping Stones' in the subject line.

Being Good to Yourself GiveAway! Enter Now!
This started out to be a "Feeling the Love" Giveaway, with Valentines Day in the air and all that. And then I started thinking. Not everyone has a sweetie. Or if they do, they are getting plenty of sweetie talk from the tv commercials right now. I swear every other commercial is for ProFlowers or "He went to Jared" And I'm kind of sick of it myself.
So this is a little different giveaway. It's showing ourselves the love.
Are you being good to yourself? Are you?
I hope so. You deserve it. You're worth it.
And when I say "being good to yourself" I mean taking your vitamins, eating right, getting some exercise occasionally, having lunch with friends, doing things you love.
It is so easy to put ourselves last. We are busy doing so much for other people. We think 'What's the point?' We might be kind of depressed as it is only February and spring seems so far away. The days are short and dark and cold. And maybe we've gained a few pounds over Christmas (so sue me!) and then one day I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and think "Who is that sad looking girl?"
I realized this week that my husband has not seen me out of pajamas for awhile. He probably thinks I never get dressed. He leaves for work before I'm showered and gets home after I've changed back into pjs. I'm not talking sexy loungewear either. I'm talking flannel pjs that I once wore when painting my kids' room that have seen better days. Not exactly the upbeat woman who is having a year of treating myself right.
I hear you asking yourself, "What does this have to do with anything and what are you giving away, Emily?" Well, ok, I'll tell you.
But first! The prizes!
Some goodies from Bath and Body Works-

Fresh Vanilla bubble bath and shower gel (2oz )

Aromatherapy Sensuality body wash Jasmine Vanilla (2oz)
“Stamina Boost” aromatherapy Peppermint and Lemon scent (.3oz)
I have a magnet with the "Open Heart" image from Lindy Longhurst
I love the vibrant colors and sweet expressions. If you haven't seen her artwork before, check her out.
A heart necktag that with a heart of the front and the word "Faith" on the back. This was donated by Rachel (Thanks, Rachel!)and is from Steel My Heart. They have a zillion different items that can be personalized with different characters- they even have a little baby angel character.
To Win! This is time to be good to yourself. Do something you have been putting off. Make a hair appointment. Go for a walk. Take a bath and lock the door. Then leave a comment below.
There will be 1 lucky winner chosen- Winner takes all! Check back next Sunday to see if you have won. I'll keep it open until next Saturday midnight EST.
Thanks! Good luck!

Peaceful New Year Giveaway! Enter Now!
I’ve got some prizes I super love and hope you will too. I was thinking about my word of the yearand what could make my life (and yours) more peaceful.
My first thought was a weekly maid service to clean the bathroom and kitchen.

I wish I could say this was one of my prizes. Alas, it is not. You will have to clean your bathtub yourself.
However! Once you have a clean bathtub, maybe you would like to enjoy a bubble bath. And that is where I can help you out.
I am giving away some goodies from Bath and Body Works-

Fresh Vanilla bubble bath and shower gel (2oz )

Aromatherapy stress relieving body wash RELAX Eucalyptus Spearamint Scent (2oz)

“Instant Comfort” aromatherapy Vanilla and Chamomile scent (.3oz)
Also, I wanted to show you one of my favorite artists: Lindy Longhurst
I love the vibrant colors and sweet expressions. Several of her pieces resonate with me but my very favorite is perfect for my peaceful new year giveaway: I have a magnet with the ‘Dream by the River image’ for this giveaway. If I close my eyes I can imagine this peaceful place with me holding my baby.
To Win! Sign up as a follower and also to receive my email newsletter. (Both are in my sidebar to your right.) Then leave a comment below. If you are already a follower and get my newsletter, just leave a comment. You can tell us how you relax and find peace in your life or just say hi.
Thanks! Good luck! There will be 4 winners chosen. Check back next Sunday to see if you are one of the lucky few.

Awesome Angel Giveaway- Winners!
How funny! I announced 8 prizes and then had 9 entries. Ok, ok, I’m a pushover. Everyone’s a winner! Thanks for your comments. Send me an email to nickwilberg@hotmail.com asap with your snail mail address and I’ll get these prizes in the mail. ((hugs)) to everyone.
E & K Rausch- Welcome! So sorry you have had to find us here.
Sonya (myluv4flowers)- Hi, Sonya! Good to see you come over here to visit me- thanks for your kind words about my blog ;0)
Jessica- I know what you mean about talking about your baby. I found that every time I told Gabriel’s story to someone it made it a little more real that I was his mom. We did March of Dimes one year and it was difficult, but very nice. (Difficult because I am not in great shape so the 4miles was killer)
Stephanie- A safe place is so important. You have met my creative family and I always thought I am not ‘artsy’ but the more I have thought about it I realize this blog is kind of a piece of art, in progress.
Gretchen- You are totally right- different things have helped me as I am at different points. How fortunate to have a supportive husband and family- I know not everyone is so lucky but for me I really was thankful to have loved ones around.
Laura (Noneya)- Thank you- I am so sorry you have to be here.
Deanna (dede402)- I agree- our baby’s names are important! I wish other people knew how much we cherish hearing their names.
Dara (The)- Thank you- I wish peace for you (and us all), too. I only got about 8 Christmas cards this year but 4 of them said ‘peace’ on them. I so appreciate that.
Julie (angelBrycesmom)- I appreciate your kind words, I am glad to send you an ornament for your tree. ;0)

Welcome to my Awesome Angel Giveaway!
To celebrate my new blog makeover and thank you for stopping by this week I will be giving away the following items:

A ‘Bless This Child’ mini-ornament by Serenity

A resin Angel ornament

An Angel Frame pin

A Guardian Angel frame

Three copies of The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans. Originally written as an expression of love for his two daughters, the author never intended for it to be published. Many Christmas seasons later, this touching tale relates the meaning of Christmas in a profound but simple way. This book was the inspiration for the many angel statues around the country which are places to remember a child who has died.

A square neck tag with a heart image by Steel My Heart
If you do not know this company take a look at their site. They have neck tags, key tags, car window stickers, and about a zillion different items that can be customized with different ‘personalities’ and they do have images that include a baby with a halo or a boy or girl angel with wings.
To enter this giveaway simply do the following:
Leave a comment in this post. You can say something you wish someone had told you, something you found to make things easier, or just say hi. If you don’t want to comment you may just send me an email at nickwilberg@hotmail.com and enter that way instead.
Entries will be accepted between December 21-midnight December 28th. Be sure to check back before January 1st to find out if you are one of the 8 winners.
