Spreading Awareness

Thanks for all your kind words. I'm sorry I can't visit your blogs right now to respond. My internet here at the hotel isn't the best. But I appreciate your sympathetic words. We are doing well. Tired of living out of a suitcase here, but glad we are all together and healthy.

It is nearly October, which is designated as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. It is often overshadowed because it is also breast cancer awareness month, a worthy cause in itself.

Do you have any ways that you plan to spread awareness? I feel really unprepared. All my items are lost in my boxes that went away when they packed us up after the flood. I should have them back in about a month, I think.

This year I'd really like to send a press release to my local paper. Does anyone have one written they'd like to share with us?

I'd love to hear your ideas. Thanks for sharing them with me.
peace-
emily

I am doing a walk to remember here in my city (October 3). Press release, that's something I have to work on too. I could use some ideas as well!

I have donated to A Walk to Remember in Naperville, IL. I recently sent a very long message to the Oprah show about baby loss.
I think that it is big news and that the world needs to know how to treat the women/family who have lost a child. I hope to hear from them so we can spread the word.
My heart aches for all of you.

Emily - just want you to know that I am thinking of you.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help with the Press Release, etc.

The National Share Walk for Remembrance & Hope is Saturday, October 24th in St. Louis. Everyone is welcome! I'll be putting together a press release in the next week and can pass it along if you would like.

Take care,
Megan

I'm thinking about sending out an email and doing a posting on facebook inviting everyone to light a candle on October 15th at 7pm in honor of all the lost pregnancies and babies everywhere. It doesnt seem like enough, but it's a start maybe.

I'm doing a walk to remember here in colorado on Oct 10th. They will read all of our lost angels names and those of us who registered in time will have our angels names on the shirt. There is a balloon release and music and poems.

I too will be asking people to light a candle for Lukas on this day. I may print something up for my Share meeting this week as well.

I may also send something to the local news people.

I plan on visiting the National Memorial for the Unborn. I might also do a giveaway or 2 for loss moms.

I just found your blog searching for the name of a memorial in St. Charles, MO where parents can buy a brick in honor of their little ones.

I just wanted to say how very sorry I am for your loss. I lost my own sweet baby just over a month ago. I was induced at 34 weeks due to complications. My baby girl only lived a short while.
