Sweet Pea Stones

My friend Stephanie over at the Sweet Pea Project has a new project called Sweet Pea Stones

The Sweet Pea Project started when Stephanie's daughter Madeline was stillborn at 41 weeks. Stephanie has been able to do great good by returning to the hospital where Madeline was born and speaking to the staff about what she appreciated and what she regretted. One of her regrets was that she did not get to keep the blanket Madeline had been wrapped in during the time she and her husband held their daughter.

The Sweet Pea Project has been collecting blankets to donate to grieving parents who will leave the hospital without their babies. Her newest project is the Sweet Pea Stones- sweet little garden stones sculpted with your baby's name.

I hope you will visit her site and help support this wonderful cause. There are so many regrets when you lose a baby- not having a blanket to remember your time with your baby should not be one of them.

peace-
emily

Thank you so much for posting about the Sweet Pea Stones, Emily. I am so excited for all the ways that the project is expanding. In the past 6 months alone the Sweet Pea Project has collected 409 blankets and $375! I wish there wasn't need for any of this, but I am so honored to be able to give back in this way. Thank you so much for bringing awareness to my project, and for everything else that you do. As always, you are an inspiration.
peace
Stephanie

Those sweet pea stones are really cute!! I think it's great to help out other families. I'm working with my hospital right now and am planning on providing baby books for them.

This is crazy because a month ago I started making a blanket to donate to a local hospital for just this cause. I haven't called the hospital so maybe I could donate them to yours.

What a beautiful idea.

The blankets and stones are such a great idea. I donated to afghans for angels and they made two lovely blankets in memory of my son. They sent me pictures too. I'll definitely check out the Sweat Pea Project.
